Cylindrical Cell Manufacturing Process
Step 1: Preparation of the electrode
The cathode active material and anode active material were sintered in heating furnace.
A milling machine is used to grind the material into smaller particles.
In a blender, the active material, the conductive material, and the adhesive are mixed in a vacuum to form a paste.
The paste is applied to the collector by a coater to produce an electrode.
Use a heater to dry the newly made electrodes.
Use a roller (calendar) to roll the electrode to the desired thickness.
Step 2: Assemble the lithium-ion battery
Method of winding
Use a strip cutter to cut the electrodes into strips.
Use ultrasonic welder to weld the collector and patch together.
The anode, diaphragm and cathode strip are wound into the battery core by winding machine.
Use a short circuit detector to check battery integrity.
Dry the batteries in a vacuum oven.
Step 3: Form and seal the battery case
Use the deep spot welder to weld a label from the unit to the bottom of the closing end of the inner cylinder housing.
After the battery core is inserted, groove the battery shell with a slotting machine and fix the position of the battery core for sealing in the future.
Use the welder to weld another sheet from the battery to the cap.
Fill the vacuum/spherical tank with electrolyte using the electrolyte filling system.
Insert the hat and align it with the opening in the box. Seal with the sealing machine in the glove box
Battery analyzer is used to charge and discharge the assembled battery to activate the battery.
Heat shrinkable PVC is used to wrap the shell and isolate the positive and negative poles.
Step 4: Battery test
Use the battery analyzer to test the performance of the newly created battery.
Use an impedance tester to measure the battery's internal resistance.
